Ecotherapy
Ecotherapy is the practice of partnering with nature for therapeutic processing and intervention. You may have already identified how nature can be healing in your own life – perhaps you love the beach, or the mountains, or the snow. Or perhaps nature has played a more difficult role in your life—maybe you’ve experienced frightening storms or threatening encounters with wildlife. My role as an ecotherapist is to work with you in processing these experiences and feelings, to identify your safe spaces and tend to any damage done. In practice, this could look like:
- Taking a session outdoors—sitting or walking
- Trying nature-inspired mindfulness
- Exploring your family “tree”—location and land included
- Utilizing grounding stones for stress reduction
- Playing with the nature basket in the office—and identifying your elemental allies
Sound like something you’d like to try? I’m happy to chat.
Not quite your speed? No problem.
Ecotherapy is an optional modality that I can bring into sessions, by your request.
