Brynn Parkinson, MSW, LCSW

Hi there! I’m Brynn.

I’m a therapist, social worker, and lover of nature. I’ve spent five years as a mental health provider and eleven years as a client myself. Talking about feelings is my favorite thing to do.

When not in the office, I enjoy reading books, practicing yoga, spending peaceful time outdoors, and playing fetch with my cat (no, seriously – he likes it).

Fun Facts

  • Brynn was born in Bloomington but raised all around. The hills of Southern Indiana, the mountains of Southern California, the Great Plains of Arkansas and the rocky shores of the East Coast have all at one time been her home.
  • You may find that Brynn really loves cats. She also really loves puffins and sloths. She is happy to discuss these details upon request.
  • Brynn’s favorite kind of book is an audiobook of a memoir read by the author. It’s like someone simply talking with you about their story. Can you tell she really likes being a therapist?
  • Her favorite activities include: lounging near trees, leisurely outdoor walks, cooking, baking, eating all the things that she’s cooked and baked, yoga, and reading. She loves to feel relaxed.
  • Brynn felt simultaneously special and ostracized when, as a child, she learned the song “A-E-I-O-U, sometimes ‘Y’ is a vowel too.” Her first name only includes a “sometimes” vowel. Why can’t she have a very, definite, for-sure vowel, as, what felt like, everyone else? It is her earliest memory of holding dual emotions and processing childhood pain, the things that may look little but feel big.

Some of Brynn's favorite places.

Atlanta Botanical Gardens, the San Gabriel Mountains, and Turkey Run State Park.
